This project was such a privilege because my wife and two kids have been going to Alpha and Omega for almost two years. When we relocated from Iowa to DFW, finding a chiropractor was one of our first priorities. We had an incredible local chiropractor who was Christian, Webster Certified, and truly great at what she did, replacing her felt like a foregone conclusion. That’s why we were so thrilled to find A&O, they’re truly impressive with their competency and ability to make you feel like part of their community.
The biggest challenge in building their website was trying to strike the balance between competent, educated, professional doctors (which they are), and fellow mom, Christian, and member of the holistic community.
When you think chiropractor, there are two juxtaposed extremes the mind might wander to. One is the hanging spine models that seem better suited to Spirit Halloween, accompanied by diagrams that would make any junior-higher giggle—some mix of anatomy textbook and shaman. The other is the vision of someone's living room, complete with rugs and diffusers and somebody's mom who went to a chiropractic "school" about four decades ago.
Alpha and Omega joins the elite company of Chiropractors who have escaped the dichotomy and hit their mark, the professionalism of a doctor with a cozy, community feel. That’s what I was driving at when I built the website. I wanted the credentials prominent and clearly displayed, with ample explanation of their very technical approach, while also displaying the disarming nature of their presence.
To accomplish this, I went with a soft color palette and jammed as many pictures of their physical space onto the page as I possibly could. The walkthrough video was non-negotiable, we had to show off the physical space so people can feel it when they come to the site. The copy of a chiropractic website is always going to be technical and rightly so, but to balance it out I used photos and videos of what you’ll be walking into.
From a technical perspective, they needed robust CMS capabilities to be able to write lengthy blogs and guides for their community members. We built a blog page that's easy to navigate and search through for people to find what they’re looking for quickly.
This project was awesome, Hannah and Morgan are great friends of our family, truly excellent chiropractors, and a pleasure to work with. Sometimes, the marketing just pops right into place.
